Mi Arbolito Mi Arbolito, a 148-foot tall residential tower, has been sited to take full advantage of its prominent location at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Upas Street. Similarly, due to its location adjacent to Balboa Park, the landscape design of this project is planned to include plantings indigenous to San Diego and its coastal climate.

Directly off Sixth Avenue, the seven hundred thirty five square foot entry courtyard will contain an impressive stone fountain and elegant metal sculpture pieces. This space will be defined on two sides by a six-foot high wrought iron fence, which will be screened by a tall evergreen hedge and colorful planted areas; the other side will contain climbing vines and similarly-treated planted areas.

Of special importance, Mi Arbolito will celebrate the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Upas Street with a very elegant specimen tree, an Magnlia Grandiflora, which is featured in Balboa Park.

The architectural design of the tower is based on providing a very, very thin vertical composition when viewed from Balboa Park, the tower’s south facade. This can be seen in the articulation of the glass-skin on the left-hand portion, the 150-foot high "wedge", and horizontal "banding" (balconies) on the right-hand portion of the façade.

In a similar fashion, the other facades -- west, north and east -- are also tailored to respond to their unique orientation and their adjacent site characteristics.

Parking for the residential tower will be in two, below-grade levels; access to the garage will be from the alley located on the north side of the property. Each residence will be assigned two parking spaces. The residential tower and garage will be accessible by two high-speed elevators. The residential tower will have two exit stairs; similarly, the garage will have -- separate from the tower -- two exit stairs.
